Turkey is ranked in the second position worldwide in terms of export/kg in household and kitchen utensils sector, Now the country’s route turned to Asia. Turkish companies attracted attention with their innovative products in Mega Show Exhibition held in Hong Kong on October 19-23. Burak Onder, Chairman of the Board of Home and Kitchenware Manufacturers and Exporters Association (EVSİD), said that they met with important buyers from Asia in the fair.
Onder pointed out that one of the most stable markets in the world is Asia and gave the following information: “While European countries and Latin America have their own problems, Asian continues are staying stable. Turkey has not much market share in the region and that’s why we are here. Hong Kong is also a very important region. When we look at the buyer portfolio in the fair, we see an intense participation from countries such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan and Korea. We can easily reach many countries from here.”
Also, Avşar Ceramic General Coordinator Murat Tabak said they employ 400 people and export to 45 countries. “Trade war is increasing demand in Turkey. There is a lot of interest in Hong Kong and this fair, where we increased our booth size 2,5 times in 4 years” he said.
