Being the greatist olive city of Turkey, Akhisar will be promoting Turkish olive and olive oil throughout the world. Alper Alhat, President of Akhisar Commodity Exchange said they will be showing off in biggest food fairs like Japan, China, USA, Dubai and Munich
Akhisar Commodity Exchange President Alper Alhat said that Akhisar, an olive town, is on the way to increase its brand value. Stating that the motto “When it comes to olive: Akhisar” was accepted by the whole sector, Alhat said that the city had succeeded in leaving behind all its competitors and Akhisar Commodity Exchange’s management played a big role in this issue. “We have 14 million olive trees. Olive and olive oil produced in our region received awards in national and international competitions. We produce 70 percent of table olives in Turkey. Akhisar Commodity Exchange is hand in hand with our producers.”
Alhat said tomato paste production is another success of Akhisar. “We asked our producers to start working on alternative products. Tomato paste is just one of these. Three years ago, we had reached a significantly high production in the sector. Turkey’s tomato production is carried out in Akhisar,” he said. Stating that they paid great importance to branded products, Alhat said both local producers and Turkey as a country would win with branded and packaged goods and exports.
Stating that one of their main targets is to introduce Akhisar olive and olive oil to international markets, Alhat said that they will join the biggest food fairs of the world like Japan, China, USA, Dubai and Munich. “We are going to promote dishes prepared with olive and olive oil in Far East and tell people about Turkish cuisine. It’s our duty to promote Turkish olive throughout the globe. Because Akhisar is Turkey’s greatest olive city” Alhat said.
