According to the information obtained from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish television sector, which made a significant leap especially in the last 10 years, ranked second in the export rates of this sector after the USA.
According to the Ministry, the Turkish TV shows are already being watched in more than 140 countries.
The export revenue from the Turkish series, which was published all over the world from the US to Russia, from the Balkans to the Middle East, and from the Far East to Latin America, and followed by millions of people, came to over 350 million dollars a year.
The Middle East and North African countries (Mena) are at the forefront of the territories in which the Turkish series are exported to. Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Asia, the USA and Latin America follow this region, respectively.
“Adını Feriha Koydum”, “Gümüş”, “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne”, “Ezel” and “Kara Sevda” are among the most exported series to date, according to the information by the Cinema General Directorate in the light of the information obtained from the sector.
Aired in over 60 countries including Turkey, a fairytale-like love, “Kara Sevda” in which the leads are Burak Özçivit and Neslihan Atagül and the supporting roles are played by important names such as Zerrin Tekindor, Kaan Urgancıoğlu and Burak Sergen, is a source of pride for Turkey as it has been awarded the “Best Series” award by the International Emmy awards.
