Süleyman Kocasert, President of the Union of Denizli Exporters, stated that in the Turkish towel companies’ target market, the US, 10 companies have been institutionalized in the last 1 year and increased the exports by 15 percent.
Süleyman Kocasert, president of the Denizli Exporters’ Association stated that Denizli, a leading producer of home textiles in the world, has demonstrated a successful performance last year. According to DENİB records, exports of textiles and apparel products increased by 4 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 1 billion 394 million dollars last year and the export of towels, bathrobes, dressing, bed sheets and linen as the main products reached 797 million dollars. In recent years, Kocasert stated that they export 425 million dollars in towels and 123 million dollars in bathrobe, in which they have accelerated their promotional activities around the world with the brand “Turkish Towel”, and stated that they set the target of exporting 750 million dollars in the short term and 1 billion dollars in the long term with these products. Stating that while the Far East is competitive, producing high quality and with the support of the Turkish bath culture, “We do not have to be modest, we produce the best towels in the world in terms of fashion, design, quality and technology. We have been doing promotions for introducing Turkish towels in the past 3 years. We have special studies about US market. In the last 1 year, over 10 Denizli companies have opened in New York and established companies and showrooms. Towel export to Europe was a horizontal trend and we made a 15 percent increase in US, which is a good indication of how we made the right decision in determining the target market, and that our branding efforts had a positive outcome. ”
