“Zeyko Tarim exports 65% of its manufactured goods”

Board Chairman of the company, Mr. Mehmet Şafi Tunç states that they hope to become a firm that is respected and trusted within the sector. Moreover, with 25 years of experience, they aim to be respectful to not only humans but to the environment.

When was Zeyko Tarim established? Could you provide us with information on your firm and brand?

Our history with olives date back to 1992. We were in the olive sector as the Tunc Brothers since we have started business in 1992. However, since 2002, we have continued our services as Zeyko Tarim, a relatively more institutionalized establishment.

What are the kinds of olives that you produce? Can you elaborate on the variety of goods?

We have two types of production being Spanish-type confit olives and naturally fermented olives both black and green.

We have nearly 80 kinds of packaging such as tin, metal cans, plastic, vacuum and glass.

How much of your production do you export? Which of the countries come first in exportation?

65% of our goods are exported. Iraq, Iran, Sweden, Canada and Turkmenistan are the countries that we mostly export to.

The year of 2017, in accordance with the sector, has been a very efficient year for our firm as well.

Are there any markets that you aim to export to in addition to the countries that you are already involved with?

We target other European countries with our natural fermented products.

What do you think might bring the Turkish agricultural goods and especially Turkish olives a step forward than its competitors in the Mediterranean?

Turkish olives face challenges such as a deficiency of raw material. This brings an instability of price and quality. Our competitors are a step ahead of us in this sense.

For success in exportation, our country must improve on the production of one or two kinds of olives and increase the production of it.

Are there any areas in which R&D is working -or is planning to work on- in terms of product development?

We have been trying to develop naturally fermented products in the past couple of years.

In 2018, what are your expectations for the firm and the sector?

A quality harvest is to be expected in the year of 2018. As Zeyko Tarim, we plan to stock and increase our endorsement in 2018.

Our company has started its activities in the food sector in 1992 as the Tunc Kardesler. In 2002 Zeyko Agriculture Food Industry Import and Export Co. Ltd services continues to turn into what. Respectful of human and environmental factors, the sector was to be sought after and trusted brand. Each year, increasing product variety, consumer tastes have been developing the product.
