İzmir International Fair is getting ready under the main theme “Energy” to open its doors during August 18 – 27, 2017.
For the 86th İzmir International Fair, Russian Federation is determined as the partner country, where new products many different countries with energy theme will meet the visitors, preparing an environment for the meeting of the private sector representatives.
Russia is coming to attend İzmir International Fair, to invest and improve the trade volume of both countries starting with “energy”, as well as “agriculture”, “metal and machinery”, “investment and finance”, “tourism”, and “chemistry” sectors.
Russia is one of the major countries of the world in electricity and natural gas production, and they are getting prepared for a strong participation at the every aspect of İzmir International Fair with their Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy, and Federal Ministry.
Energy investments in Turkey
In March 2016, 65% of the investments were thermal power plants, where as the thermal power plant investment was realized as 7% according to 2017 March figures.
The wind power stations that were first established in 1998 are an efficient energy production source due to the geographical location of our country.
The wind power stations had 17% share in the energy investments scope last year, where as they have the highest share 43% in 2017 March investments.
Hydroelectricity power plants that took 9% in 2016 March energy investment figures, raised to 39% in 2017. The share of alternative energy investments like garbage, biogas, waste heat and geothermal energy investments is 11%.
Hydroelectricity power plants, biomass for heating, thermal solar and geothermal energy use have become major renewable energy sources contributing to energy production in Turkey.
Turkey is at the 7th rank with its geothermal potential on the world, and sits at 14th rank with its production capacity. In the recent years, geothermal and wind power based electricity production has been more effective in Turkish energy sector.
